Joanna Newsom—TODAY!

Joanna Newsom’s show is today! We hope you’re all as insanely excited as we are—this morning was full of chats about her reference to Narnia in “Bridges and Balloons” (“I can recall our caravel:/A little wicker beetle shell/With four fine maste and lateen sails/Its bearings on Cair Paravel”), her amazing, wonderful, and twisted lyrics (“scrabbled at your chest like a mute/With my fists of ham” from Jackrabbits) and comparing songs we hope she plays to setlists from New Orleans and Texas. We’re all hoping for an “Esme” appearance, but it wasn’t on her past setlists. (Will you oblige us, Joanna?)
Doors open at The Moon at 7pm, but you should definitely head over to The Moon now to get your tickets (free for FSU students!) if you’re really set on hearing her. We’ll see you there!
The annual Saturday Matinee of the Arts at the Tallahassee Museum is Feb. 19th from 10 AM-4 PM.
Admission is FREE!
Kronos Quartet & Wu Man, performing “A Chinese Home” co-commissioned by 7 days!
